ThatSum Privacy Policy
Effective: October 19, 2026
ThatSum (“That’s Summarized”) does not keep a server-side archive of your lectures, attachments, or finished summaries.
What happens to your content
When you request a summary, the page URL, title, retrieved media, and files you selected are temporarily processed by our backend and Google Gemini. Temporary files are required while estimating and generating the summary. Gemini uploads are deleted after each operation. Backend source and rendering files are deleted when processing finishes. If a job is abandoned before payment or fails, its temporary content is deleted within one hour.
A completed PDF is available in backend memory for no more than five minutes while the extension retrieves it. After the extension verifies and saves it locally, the backend job and its remaining data are deleted. The PDF is then stored only in your browser’s local extension database until you delete it from the Library or uninstall the extension.
Cookies, payments, and logs
Cookie values stay in your browser. The extension uses them only when making the browser request and does not send their values to ThatSum. Dodo Payments handles checkout and payment information; ThatSum does not receive card details. Minimal job, quote, and payment identifiers exist only while needed to operate an active request and prevent duplicate webhook processing. Orphan payment identifiers expire within seven days.
Like a normal web server, our infrastructure may log the request time, IP address, route, response status, and technical errors for security and reliability. We do not intentionally include submitted content or cookie values in those logs. A keyed IP hash used for rate limiting expires after the one-hour rate-limit window.
Your control
You choose every page and attachment sent for processing. Delete a locally saved PDF from the extension Library at any time. For privacy questions, contact [email protected].
